A new study conducted by researchers from Texas A&M and headed aside assistant professor Christopher J. Ferguson has found that personality plays a some more significant theatrical role in levels of child aggression and violence than media consumption.

The researchers talked to 302 youths aged between 10 and 14-year-elderly in a small town happening the Mexican border. Just over half of the participants were feminine and just about altogether were Spanish American. All had been participants in a previous study just about sad feelings and child delinquency.

The researchers asked the participants a variety of questions aimed at acquiring a sensory faculty of who they were, what their home life was like, what kind of media they watched/played, and for how long. Once the researchers had their data, they left the children to their own devices for a year, and so returned with more questions about media consumption and whether the child had done anything especially intense operating theater aggressive in the propaedeutic twelve months.

The study found that there was no crystalline correlation between the videogame playing and aggressive or violent behavior. Instead, IT advisable that asocial operating theatre saddening personality traits played a good deal to a greater extent of a role than any fierce videogames Oregon television. It recommended that, in the future, researchers should be a good deal more conservative with their hypotheses on how violent games might strike children.

The study isn't the end of the matter however, American Samoa Ferguson noted in his decision. The participants were not randomly elect, scorn the researchers nerve-wracking to make the sample as representative As possible, and the study didn't allow certain important factors like genetic science or differing levels of ego-control. He too added that the participants being overwhelmingly Hispanic might inclined the data, and people should be upon one's guard of using it to draw conclusions about other cultures.
